I told you I'd do it! Haha yesterday (Friday July 25, 2014) I went to Disneyland in Anaheim, California and it was the best time of my life...for the most part, lol.
We get to the park around...oh, 10:30 maybe? and get parked and headed into the park. I'm with my two friends and they wanted to go into California Adventure Parks first, which I was totally fine with, but I was still like we should go into Disneyland and then go to California Adventure. We ended up heading into California Adventure and rode a few rides and looked around and grabbed some fast passes for the Cars ride later. We went through The Little Mermaid ride twice (that's like my favorite ride there, btw) and then hit up California Screamin'. We found Sully and took a photo with him and saw other characters (Mr. and Mrs. Incredible, Sofia the First, Jake the Neverland Pirate, etc.) and then headed back so we could head into the actual Disneyland. We get up to the gate (and I had to dig for my stupid ticket...I thought I had lost it) and we had the workers our tickets and they girl scanned it and then we had the following conversation:
Worker: 'Have you been to California Adventures already?'
Worker: 'I'm sorry, but your tickets are only good for one park per day.'
I almost cried.
We walk away and head back into the other park.
I was literally on the verge of tears (I know, I know. Baby, right?) because I wanted to go to Disneyland so bad. That's what I had came for. Not stupid California Adventures. (Sorry to those mega California Adventure fans.) I wanted to cry so bad, haha, but didn't. (Okay I did wipe some potential tears that pooled in my eyes, but didn't actually shed them ) I then texted my mom (yep, that's how I roll) and complained. I was mad and sad and frustrated and angry (is that the same as mad???) and just filled with emotions. My mom eventually texted me back, but didn't give me time to reply before she called me. We were in the middle of the Little Mermaid ride again and I told her I'd call her back. I did and we discussed what had happened. The tickets really were for only one park a day and I got mad at myself for not seeing that sooner. So my mom offered to pay for us to upgrade our current tickets to the Park Hopper tickets. She said she'd pay for my one friend and my friend's cousin and a chaperone because we were staying in the park later than the rest of out group (including my other friend who was with us earlier) because they were going to an Angels baseball game (the Angels won, btw). So, around five, when the other half of the group left, the three of us (my friend, her cousin, and me...the chaperone said she was perfectly fine in the California Adventure park and we'd meet her later when we were ready to leave) went into Disneyland and I tell you: IT WAS THE MOST MAGICAL MOMENT OF MY LIFE. AND I'M FOR REAL. You know how I'm one of the biggest Disney Fans and I just had to go.
We get into the park and I immediately spot the Royal Hall which I had been trying to get to the whole day.
We hop into the line and waited approximately 30 mins. or so? I could be wrong but whatever (we played eye spy to pass the time ) The sign had said that there were two Princesses inside, who were Cinderella and Snow White, and then plus a 'Special Friend'. I was super excited, but a little bummed out because it wasn't Ariel haha. So we waited our turn and eventually got in there.
(Oh, I forgot to say that next to the Royal Hall is the Royal Theatre where they put on Beauty and the Beast and Tangled. As we approach the Royal Hall, I spot a big yellow ball gown and immediately freak the freak out. I had just spotted Belle and I spazzed a bit. But don't worry, I didn't draw any attention. So I grab my drawing I'm going to have her sign (princesspea5456.deviantart.com…) and a sharpie, but as we approach she starts heading back behind the stage She bent down and hugged a little girl and then walked backstage she waved goodbye and actually came back out to the little girl quickly, but I didn't get a chance to talk to her I was less than ten feet away from her, but I didn't get her signature or talk to her.)
So we go inside Royal Hall and around the corner and the first one there is Ariel and I once again freaked the freak out. All inside, of course. Couldn't make a fool of myself. My friend's cousin goes first as I get out my picture of Ariel and put it on the clipboard I had brought. Ariel said something about Payten's (the cousin) red hair. She said something about how they have the same hair color and Payten must brush her hair with her own dinglehopper. Courtney (my friend) went next and got her picture take with Ariel and spoke to her a bit. They talked about the rides we have ridden so far and said that if she went on she'd have to bring her Prince Eric with her. (So cute, right? ) Finally, it was my turn
I walked towards her, clipboard in hand. She says "Hello Princess" and smiles at me. I was freaking out on the inside because I've been waiting forever for this moment. (Hahaha I probably sound really lame to you all, but Ariel's my all-time favorite and it's like meeting a celebrity to me.) She notices what's in my hands and I say I have something I would like her to sign. I show her the drawing ( princesspea5456.deviantart.com…) and SHE LOVES IT. She's commenting on the drawing and how good I am and then she says she loves the dress and that she was going to ask the Fairy Godmother to make her one. I was so flattered and happy. I gave her the marker (purple, of course ) and she signed it. We then took a picture and then I had to move on.
We then went to Snow White and I honestly don't remember what she had said because I was still so excited that I just met Princess Ariel. I do remember she was so so so so so sweet and loved my drawing as well. We then went to Tiana (who I was not expecting, tbh) and she was just as nice. She enjoyed my drawing, but didn't talk as much as the other two. That doesn't matter, though. They were all so sweet and wonderful and I wanted to take them home.
Later I met up with Goofy (who was goofy, shocker right ) and so much fun. He signed my little book I brought with me and we took some awesome pictures. I'll have to put them up for you all later
Overall, besides the little run-ins we encountered, I had the best time in my life so far and I want to go back so bad and meet the rest of them (especially Aurora and Cinderella and Belle and Peter Pan and Alice) and have them sign my drawings and next time I won't be as nervous and I'll actually have smart and cool things to say.
To end, I'll tell you the characters I did see...whether I met them or not. I saw Minnie, Goofy, Chip and Dale, Pluto, Tinker Bell, Mary Poppins, Bert, Sully, Jake the Pirate, Sofia the First, Mr. and Mrs. Incredible, Ariel, Snow White, Tiana, and I believe that is all. xoxo
